JCR 1 - The BAR
JCR 1 is both the common room for sitting around in, and more importantly,
its the Bar. The Bar with its own conservatory is the central meeting place in hall
and always has a mellow atmosphere and good drink to welcome you. We also have the
bar quizzes, and hustings in here.
JCR II - Games and Events
This room has two uses. Most of the time it is used as a games room,
with three pool tables, and several arcade machines. At night it is sometimes used
for events which might be a disco or jazz performance.
The Library
Tapton's Library is unique in the sense that there are no books in it!
However, the room sports one of the best views and is great for working and
reading. The room also has a photocopier at cheap rates, and several email machines.
Computer Room
Our computer room has recently been re-equipped with a host of powerful
networked computers. There are also printers in the room which save you trekking
across campus.
TV Room
There are two TV rooms, with a third TV in the Bar. We have these
equipped with Sky so all the main sports events are screened. You can book the room
for a programme you don't want to miss, and even borrow VCR's from reception.
Laundry
Both the main block and Hallamgate Court have their own laundry.
Washing machines and tumble-dryers are an affordable way of keeping your clothes
clean!
